Electron apps ship an entire web browser just to render a chat window. QxChat uses your system's native WebView, so you get the features without the bloat.
~45 MB of RAM.
Discord uses about 600 MB just sitting there. Slack needs 500 MB to show you a notification dot. We do the same thing at 45 MB. With E2EE, voice, video, and file sharing included. Turns out you don't need an entire Chromium instance to display text messages.
Measured idle with 5 encrypted rooms connected, Windows 11.~6 MB installer.
The Element installer is 183 MB. Slack is 146 MB. Discord is 139 MB. For chat apps. QxChat ships at 6 MB because we don't bundle a copy of Google Chrome inside every download. Revolutionary concept, apparently.
